Hello Nicole
One of the things we must get used to as residents of this great state of Florida is the fact that we get uninvited visitors all the time in the guise of hurricanes, tropical depressions, and tropical storms. Today is one of those days. We are getting ready to welcome Tropical Storm Nicole. As a result of Nicole stopping by we find ourselves with the need of canceling our Wednesday night service. We don't want to put any of our brothers or sisters in danger by having to drive through flooded streets. So stay home, stay dry, and have church at home like they used to do 2000 years ago. We will see you this weekend.

Big Brother is Coming
The White House strategy of turning supporters into snitches when they see "fishy" information about the health care debate may run afoul of the law, legal experts say. Story Here.

Twitter Down
If you were having problems posting on Twitter or Facebook, this might be the reason why. Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, Google Blogger and other Web sites were hobbled Thursday Twitter was completely down for many users and it all appears to have been because of a coordinated online attack on one political blogger in the Republic of Georgia. If You Are Stressing About the Swine Flu
Scientists see this flu strain as relatively mild. In fact, the current outbreak of the H1N1 virus, which emerged in San Diego and southern Mexico late last month, may not even do as much damage as the run-of-the-mill flu outbreaks that occur each winter without much fanfare. Read It Here.

It's A Tea Party!!!
It seems almost daily that the federal government launches yet another massive spending initiative. While it may be lost upon Washington bureaucrats that money for these projects doesn't just materialize from thin air, we Americans who have families, mortgages, car payments, tuition, and other expenses know differently. The money that Congress and the President seem to wield so nonchalantly comes from our pockets, our dreams, and our families.
The American Family Association, along with other groups, are helping to organize thousands of "TEA" (Taxed Enough Already) Parties across the country. I encourage you to visit the TEAPartyDay.com website and join the rallies happening in your area.
In a country such as ours where government, as described by Abraham Lincoln, is "of the people, by the people, for the people," we the people need to stand together to remind our officials not to use our families' hard-earned dollars so recklessly.

He provides biblical and scientific answers to some of the most difficult questions people ask about the Christian faith, including: Can we really trust the Bible from its very first verse? How do we know there is a God? Are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible? How can we evangelize more effectively?
Come and join us for our regular weekend services and a special two part series on Sunday evening. This is going to be an amazing weekend you won’t want to miss! Be sure to invite all your friends.

Kudos to Sears
These days, it's tough to find companies that share our values. But this holiday season, some retailers are doing good. At Sears, they're giving back to the community by supporting our troops. By law, employers are required to hold jobs open for any military personnel who are called up for duty. Sears is doing our soldiers one better. To protect their workers from taking a pay cut and losing their benefits when they leave for the front lines, Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits-including medical insurance and bonus programs. A Sears Customer Service rep said, "[We] regard service to our country as one of the greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear." I salute Sears and other corporations who make their own sacrifices on behalf of America's bravest.

Get Informed, Get Your Guide and Vote...
Using an undercover camera, Students for Life of America (SFLA) has produced new evidence that infanticide "does happen" at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. When asked by a pregnant mother if her baby could be born alive at a New Jersey clinic, the nurse responded, "It does happen, but it wouldn't be able to survive on its own so eventually the baby does die." The tape, one in a long line of incriminating videos released to the media, was posted on YouTube to show Planned Parenthood's refusal to comply with the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. Just days later, YouTube removed the post, saying it "violated the website's terms of use." YouTube may turn a blind eye to these injustices, but the U.S. Congress should not. Time after time, the leadership on Capitol Hill has refused to investigate Planned Parenthood, one of the biggest beneficiaries of your taxpayer dollars. Instead of freezing its funds, liberals are seeking ways to increase them! Before you vote for the next class of congressmen, make sure you know where your candidates stand on taxpayer funded abortion. Log on to www.frcaction.org for your free copy of a voter guides.

Can Dead People Vote?
Apparently they can in Texas, where one county found that 4,000 of its registered voters were dead but even that didn't stop many of them from voting!
The excitement over the spike in voter registrations has quickly turned to suspicion as officials in almost a dozen states have launched investigations to determine whether these nine million Americans are actually eligible. In the weeks leading up to November 4, the New York Post found dozens of people who have different names but share the same story. Most of the accounts, like Christopher Barkley's, are from swing states and involve ACORN, the "community activist group" with ties to Obama submitting the bulk of the new voter applications. Barkley says he was "hounded" to register by ACORN workers in Ohio, a crown jewel of the presidential race. "I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register. They'd ask me if I was registered. I'd say yes, and they'd ask me to do it again." Ohio voter Lateala Goins told a Post reporter, "You can tell them you're registered as many times as you want; they do not care. They will follow you to the buses, they will follow you home..." Another man in Cleveland says he "was given cash and cigarettes" by ACORN representatives for registering a whopping 72 times in the last year and a half.
Here in Florida, a state that President Bush won by less than 600 ballots in 2000, the Sun-Sentinel discovered that more than 30,000 felons are still on the rolls, despite the law rendering them ineligible. Although 11 states are investigating ACORN's role in widespread election fraud, time is short. With the nation on edge and Americans sharply divided as to who can lead us back, democracy cannot become corruption's next victim. Regardless of who wins, we all have a stake in an honest process.

Get Informed
With just weeks to go before a climactic presidential election, all eyes are on the national stage. But the stakes are equally high if not higher for the country's congressional races. We've all watched as Congress has muddled its way through the last two legislative sessions, increasing its attacks on the American family and leaving critical issues like the sanctity of life, cloning, taxes, hate crimes, and marriage in limbo. This all culminated with the fiasco of the "bailout bill". To help you navigate the candidates on November 4, FRC Action has released its first installment of the Congressional Voter Guide. In it, America's next leaders are asked what their positions are on a host of key issues. Log on to www.frcaction.org and download your copy, which compares House and Senate candidates in 25 hot races. Look for phase two of FRCA's Voter Guides to hit the site next week.

Are You Kidding Me????
I don't know about you guys and gals, but I'm mad as hell at our senators. Those guys that we elected to represent us who constantly ignore us, who think that we are stupid and need to be told how our money needs to be spent. Yea I'm mad at those spineless cowards who yesterday passed a $700 billion bill. Yea and that includes the two presidential candidates who voted for this bill. Are you kidding me? A bill filled with "pork". Let me give you a couple of examples the bill gives millions of dollars for, ready for this? rum research, yea you heard right. Here is another one, tax break for a toy company that makes wooden arrows. Yea you heard that one right too. I don't know about you but it gets me mad to see these sanctimonious wind bags being so gracious with my tax money. So what can we do? We can hope that the guys in congress stay true to their course (I doubt it) and vote it down again. At least the congress showed more sensitivity to their constituents and listened. But it they buckle to the pressure and vote this bill into law, then I hope you remember when November comes around and you can exercise your biggest weapon against these guys and that is your vote. Get informed, find out who voted for this bill and make them pay come November.

Fireproof
Fireproof, the new feature film from the makers of Facing the Giants, debuted Friday in 830 theatres across the country here in Miami is showing at Kendall Regal. The movie is about Captain Caleb Holt, a fireman who is a hero to all but his own wife. The couple, exhausted by constant conflict, prepares for divorce until Caleb decides to follow his father's wisdom. Caleb's father gives his son "The Love Dare," a book of 40 daily challenges that he hopes will point the couple toward reconciliation and faith in Jesus Christ. The movie provides a message of encouragement for those seeking to strengthen their marriage or prepare for marriage. With a hostile cultural climate that undermines marriage, this movie is a breath of fresh air. Spread the word to your friends and family!

Are We doing Enough?
Is the church doing enough to help the poor? Sixty-seven percent of Americans think so. According to a recent national survey the majority of those polled said their "church already does enough to help the poor in [their] community." But is there more to do? Steve Haas, the vice president for church relations at World Vision, is using the research as a call to conscience for believers. According to Haas, Christians are just "scratching the surface" when it comes to helping the less fortunate. As Christians, we have a personal and corporate responsibility to engage in the war against poverty. It is, and has always been, primary to the Gospel message. Scripture makes it clear that our responsibility to address the plight of the poor is fundamental to living out our faith. Arthur Brooks points out in his book Who Really Cares? that liberals equate this responsibility with the call for more government programs. This effort to shift the responsibility to the government deprives the giver and the recipient of tangible and intangible benefits and studies also show it is very ineffective. For decades, this reliance on big government to care for the poor has done more to perpetuate American poverty than alleviate it. Instead of breaking the cycle of poverty by addressing the root causes like the breakdown of the family government programs are actually prolonging the problem with short-term fixes. This liberal approach to welfare is devastating to the poor and to the entire nation. The more the church does, the less our government will have to do. Local faith-based charities are not only more effective, but they have also proven more efficient. If your church doesn't have outreaches to the poor, I encourage you to consider partnering with another ministry or starting one of your own. The more energy we put into meeting our neighbors' needs, the greater our opportunity for sharing the rich message of Jesus Christ.

Earth Day (The Truth)
An estimated billion people celebrated Earth Day around the world yesterday, but few seem to understand its true motivation. Earth Day is not just another reminder to use recycled paper or drive energy-efficient cars. It's a calculated attack on the sanctity of human life. Population control is inextricably linked to the environmental and abortion movements. For years, the Sierra Club and other green militants have said that the best way to consume fewer resources is to have fewer children. Their own website says, "Talk to your decision-makers and demand an increase of funding for voluntary family planning programs and access to comprehensive sex education for young people." Last year, Optimum Population Trust released a paper that was even less subtle. It claimed that children are "bad for the planet" and called on nations to reduce the global population by five billion which would only be possible by forced abortion and sterilization. And how could we forget Barry Walters? The Australian professor published an article last year advocating a "baby tax" for every couple with more than two children. The latest fad crisis is global warming, but even that is just another excuse to fund "Planet" Parenthood and similar groups. Stewardship of God's creation is the responsibility of every Christian. But we must realize that there's a greater threat to the environment than climate change or scarce resources and that's the threat of environmental extremism that elevates the planet above people.

Praise!!!
Just got back from the water baptism. Wow, it was awesome, I'm still feeling the "high". I am so humbled by the fact that the Lord will allow me to be a part of such an important decision in people's lives. The day was beautiful, a typical south Florida morning sun out not a cloud in the sky, the water was cold though. Anyways the best part of the whole thing was listening to the people telling their stories of how they came to the Lord and what He is doing in their lives. It was also awesome to baptize young people and to see how fired up for God they are. Man as I looked at them I wished I could have been like that at their age. Overall it was an amazing experience AGAIN!!!. I never get tire of doing this. Rudy (our media guy) and his team where out there and they got some great footage so we will see a video pretty soon..

Wow!!!
Just got back from the youth concert. There were at least a couple of hundred kids there. It was awesome to see so many kids having a great time worshiping the Lord. The two bands were amazing. Among Our Refuge started things up and man let me tell you they were great they really brought it on. They are sooo young but yet they are great musicians and above all they love the Lord. I'm looking forward to seeing them again. Alexander was the second band and they also played a great set. Overall the music was awesome but the greatest thing of all was to see a whole bunch of kids giving their lives to the Lord, to Him be the glory. I really felt His presence tonight. Well now I got to sleep fast cause tomorrow we have the baptism.
Stoked!
I'm really stoked about tomorrow, see we CCK are having our first baptism of the year. It will be at the usual place out in Crandon Park. I'm stoked because as a pastor I have the honor of being in one of the teams that will be performing the baptism. I so look forward to hear the glory stories of the people that will get baptized, I so enjoy to hear what great things God is doing in their lives. Anyways if you never been baptized then tomorrow is your chance, come on out and follow one of Jesus' commandments. Bring an appetite also cause there will be plenty of food. If you have already been baptized come out anyways and show support for your brothers and sisters. Anyways is supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow. Can't wait!!!
Tonight at CCK
Tonight at CCK Uth Nation (the youth ministry) is hosting a concert/outreach. Two local bands Alexander, and, Among Our Refuge will be rocking the place. Pastor Jose will say a few words and afterwards plenty of food and fellowship. What better way to spend Friday night than with friends listening to good music and eating free food? It all starts at 7:30 so come on down.
